We are HERE.

It started as a three-hour drive, which in respect to the other days’ 10 hour drive should have been easy. Factoring in adding AdBlue into our rental car, hungry kids, windy roads, and gorgeous scenery…our drive seemed to take longer than it should have. Regardless, we arrived to the kinderhotel we’ve all be waiting for!

Years ago we found this place to go skiing at the end of March. I wanted to try out the Kinderhotel brand of lodging here in Europe, where child care was included with the stay. This hotel left such an impression on me and Perla, we’ve been anxiously looking for a chance to return. So here we are, in summertime!

I was raining after we checked in, so when the kids were starting to ask about going to the kids club, we were sure to make that happen. Knowing from before, there are a lot of other toys to look and play with on the way to the kids club. I also had a work call so I listened in while watching Perla and Trent explore what was called the “unsupervised kids play area.” Then I realized what it really was, a place where parents just left their kids to play on their own while mom and dad were probably asleep in their rooms. There were some remodeled features that were perfect for Perla and Trent’s ages, and any younger I may have wanted to stay and made sure they were taking turns on all of the games. They were mature enough to manage their behavior, and even conversed with some of the German speaking kids who knew just enough English. However, this was a good reminder that for the rest of our trip, the kids needed to use some German phrases (so more to come there).

Perla, Trent, and Diane were finally checked into the kids club, and then Greg and I were able to explore the adult pool and sauna area. Then we got dressed and enjoyed a meal just between the two of us. It was completely lovely to enjoy and explore the dining area and buffet options…however we missed the kids just after a couple hours without them. That night at dinner it was a special dessert buffet, so when I asked Greg if it was okay to pick up the kids so they can enjoy dessert with us he happily agreed it was a good idea.

Our first night here was so great, and tomorrow we hope to explore the entire area!
