La Plage!

After all the moving around yesterday and our late return to the hotel, we decided today we’d stay put and maximize our beach access. We reserved four chairs with umbrellas for the whole day. This was a good move because we woke up with an objective to maximize what we were paying for. Otherwise we would have taken forever to get out the door and into the sand.

Immediately it was turning into a great family day. There were fish in the water foe the kids to chase after, and the water was deep enough for them to swim in with waves gentle enough to enjoy but not be afraid of. Diane dipped her feet into the water and was captivated being surrounded with water while being carried.

Diane couldn’t stay out in the sun and heat too long, so I took her back to the room and was able to get some work done.

All of us met for lunch and were able to find a place serving food (as it was almost siesta time) and of course they had kids menu options. This has probably been my favorite place to eat in Les Sablettes, only because of their offerings of sweet and salty crepes & galletes!

We went back to the beach for more swimming and Diane fell asleep under the umbrella. We all made it back to the room for showers and some rest. It was too good of a nap for Greg and I, having realized it was already 8pm and we still needed dinner!

As we may find going out with a stroller and small kids for dinner at what was close to 9pm as a difficult activity in the US, we only blended in here. All sorts of people were out with their kids for dinner, and like us found ourselves on the carousel before retreating to bed. Like lunch, the dinner had a children’s meal offering at this restaurant:

After the kids fell asleep we watched a little bit more of the Downton Abbey movie, which takes the family to southern France. I appreciate some of the humor since most of the foreigners I see here are Brits also maneuvering meals, kids, and reservations in the local town.
