Last London Day

This was our last full day in London. While I had hopes this would have us all 100% rebound to the time zone change, we still didn’t leave the hotel afternoon. This just meant we really used what we paid for lodging, with the benefits of rolling out the door and enjoying what the travel journey had to offer. For this day, it was the London Eye and Picadilly Circus!

It was a Saturday, so local families were out AND tourists from everywhere. We managed to get a Family Ticket on the London Eye, which was 104 GBPs. This was significantly lower than the 194 GBPs that I thought about purchasing to get us through the Priority Lane. Either way it was a pain to queue for. We all got on it eventually, and happily checked the box. Then we needed to plan for food and I happened to have come across with this gem of a list: https://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/best-for/child-friendly-family-restaurants-in-london_6678

We checked another box and rode the tube as a family. Let me say, it was a delight! The tunnels to get down there were empty since it was a Saturday, and we just needed to work some stroller action up and down a couple flights of stairs where there wasn’t an escalator. Trent and Perla still preferred the bus since they get to ride upstairs. Then we found Heddon Street and managed to get an outdoor table. While I had grand hopes to see the kids enjoy the ice cream bar they advertised, they were content (and Perla fell asleep) and I wasn’t going to introduce more stimulation than they needed. We all walked down Regents Street for a couple of stores to peek into, then managed to find a space on the buses for our return back to the hotel. It was baffling how much more busy they were compared to the tubes on a Saturday!

Shamefully, we did something very American and ordered Papa Johns for the kids since Perla was comparing all pizzas in Europe to that chain. Even though pizza came FROM Europe. Regardless, it was delicious!
