Jet Lag snacks!

Brought to you by Top Ramen and melatonin. This day was projected to be fuzzy with sleepy eyes and nothing on the agenda but acclimate to the time. I was up at midnight, Diane woke at 12:30, then Perla walked in at 1am saying she can’t sleep. First round of settling, Perla took a tiny bit of melatonin and we both rocked an awake Diane to sleep. Perla then was hungry (which we’ve all been there after flying over the pond) and luckily I packed a couple ramen packets. With no microwave or refrigerator in our room, it was truly the best meal at the right time! As expected, Trent also awoke, probably when he smelled the ramen! It was such a comfort food in the still of the early morning that I completely enjoyed with the complement snuggling that followed.

The morning was spent scoping out laundry options and seeing Londoners lunch. Across the street was a Lower Marsh Market where all sorts of food was represented. The Filipino stand was so long! The nearby park was occupied by mid-day workers in suits to more casual ware. It was SO nice to be in the city again! Of course I know that feeling is temporary 😉

With the family awake, we started our walk towards Buckingham Palace to show the kids where the queen lived. It was a slow walk after stopping at Jubilee park for some drinks and to ride the carousel. After walking through some very touristy crowds, we made it to the front gate, took some obligatory photos, then found our way back on the bus. The best part was getting the kids to ride on the top, with the stroller space on the lower deck for Diane and I.

Before retreating to the hotel, we dined in at the Masters Superfish spot next to us. Trent learned how to clean a prawn, and decided it’s his new favorite food. Diane worked on her taste for bread, and is showing us how hungry she is for solid food. She then chases her hunger with a bottle of formula. Poor thing threw up the milk after drinking so fast, so Greg gave her a nice warm rinse before bed. We’ll see what our wakeup time is tomorrow!
