We’ve Arrived!

Well our flight from Denver had some interesting twists, but none of them due to our family or Pebbletwig behavior. You know that silence on a plane when everyone has boarded and you’re debating using the bathroom one more time before takeoff…because why not? Well in that moment yesterday for our 8:20pm flight, they made the call to offload all passengers with their belongings to test the landing equipment. I was so happy we hadn’t given the kids some Benadryl yet! We deboarded just fine, was able to get a couple more drinks from the bar in Denver, and then loaded up again. We ended up taking off just before 10pm.

Greg and the kids had one row/side of the plane and Diane and I were across the aisle with her sitting between myself and another father traveling with his older kids. Diane fell asleep after takeoff and didn’t wake up until an hour before landing!

It was awhile for all of us to get off the plane and collect the stroller. We had a car and driver help meet us and get us to the hotel. I found a service called Family Transfers who also happen to have carseats installed for you. This was nice as it’s one last thing after just get your bags and not getting our transportable booster seats out from inside my luggage. Other services like this in the US tend to NOT want to have a car seat installed by them for liability, and they require the parents to do it. Regardless, it was great to have some help after the long haul. Prior visits to Heathrow were made easy with the Heathrow Express…which is still a solid method when traveling alone.

We’ve checked in and unpacked and got familiar with whats around here…while staying awake….more to come!
